999 Fine Silver Pendant and Earrings (SOLD)

999 Fine Silver Pendant and Earrings designed and handcrafted by me. This is my first time ever, creating anything from the PMC (Precious Metal Clay) compound.
The Precious Metal Clay was developed by scientists working at the Mitsubishi Materials Special Products division in Sanda, Japan. After years of experimentation the first patents were awarded in the early 1990s with many additional materials joining the family of ...products. The principle ingredient of PMC is gold or silver, reduced to tiny flakes smaller than 20 microns in size. As a point of reference, it would take as many as 25 of these particles clumped together to equal a grain of salt.

The other ingredients in PMC are water and an organic (naturally occuring) binder. After firing, the water and binder have completely burned away so what remains can be hallmarked as .999 silver or gold.Dried out or unwanted objects can be refined just like conventional precious metal.
Now, these pictures are rough and not edited the way one should when presenting to clients, but I need more experience creating with this type of precious metal before I take credit for work that I am just learning as a beginner in this medium.
I did wear the set last week however, and I received many compliments. I think that helps to motivate and encourage an artist to push on ahead, and even when I make mistakes, it seems to be forgiven just because I'm the designer here. lol

BLUE CHALCEDONY BRACELET- (Blue Iris) 

Chalcedony or calcedony, is a fine-grained variety of the silica mineral quartz. It has a waxy luster and appears in a great variety of colors - usually blue-white, buff, light tan, gray, yellow or brown. Chalcedony is named after the ancient seaport of Chalcedon (Kadikoy, Turkey).   Archaeologists have dug up Babylonian and Assyrian chalcedony cylinder-seals dating from 500 BC.  Common forms of chalcedony include agate, bloodstone, jasper, and onyx.

 

Blue Iris Designer Bracelet is created with medium blue chalcedony gemstones of finest quality, and drenched in 925 Sterling Silver saucer shaped beads and 925 Sterling Silver floral designed bead caps.  The Blue Iris double strand, boasts a shiny 925 Sterling Silver oval link chain with attached blue chalcedony drops and Sterling Silver embellishments.  The main focal is an artist lampwork bead center, with Sterling Silver handcrafted beads from the Karen Hill Tribes on either side.  A shiny Sterling Silver heart shaped toggle clasp finishes the bracelet with a Sterling Silver flower charm hanging off the clasp from the Karen Hill Tribes.

NATURAL AGATE BRACELET (Sunset)

Natural Agate is a beautiful natural chalcedony stone, classified as a semi precious gem and has been used by people as early as the ancient Egyptians in and before 3000 BC. Agate is still cut, shined, and shaped in the same ways it was in ancient times, and used in many of the same ways.Carnelian is a brownish red to red-orange variety of chalcedony or cryptocrystalline quartz. Its name is believed to come from a variety of cherry known as kornel.
The distinctive red-orange color of carnelian is a result of trace amounts of iron. Sometimes the name Sard is used to refer to the darker colors of carnelian, though there is no clear distinction between carnelian and sard. Natural Carnelian material may be heated to enhance color and still keep it natural looking.The most important carnelian deposits are found in Brazil, Uruguay, India and Madagascar.

The ancient Romans named this plant Calendula because they noticed that it was blooming on the first day of every month (calends). It was a symbol of joy and happiness in their gardens, and because it provided them with a continuous supply of flowers and tender leaves. Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz and is a popular gemstone. If it were not for its widespread availability, amethyst would be very expensive.
